We have recently finished renovating our home studio. Our first client was this little baby girl, the most beautiful ballerina I have ever seen.
In order to successfully pose a newborn, a professional session should take place before the baby turns 12 days old. This little one was 9 days old when she came to my studio and she was perfect. The session took place exactly as planned. I made sure the studio is very warm so that the baby is comfortable. After she fell asleep I was able to take quite a few shots in each outfit I had prepared for her.
Newborn baby sessions in my home studio in Bethel, CT usually take about 3-4 hours, depending if the baby falls asleep right away or if he or she needs additional soothing time or feeding. Some babies this age need to eat all the time so once the baby is asleep I need to act fast.
I try to give moms variety of images. Before each newborn baby session I try to provide various blankets and backdrops and matching baskets. I let moms pick their favorite basket and blanket.
